The Georgia Trail Summit: A Gathering with a Purpose

GTS Logo_Filled In

Georgia is traversed by a multitude of trails that define communities, connect neighbors and get people outdoors. Yet there is need for so much more. There are many opportunities to connect existing trail systems, increasing access to a multitude of parks, communities and experiences.

The 2020 Georgia Trail Summit will bring together non-profit leaders, city planners, elected officials, greenspace advocates, recreation enthusiasts and others to envision an accelerated and ambitious approach to improving Georgia’s trails.

The Georgia Trail Summit was first convened in 2014 by the Georgia Trails Alliance, a nonprofit that aims to connect Georgia’s trail community. Hundreds of stakeholders have gathered to advance the role that trails play in our state’s health and culture. After hosting four successful summits, The Trust for Public Land will convene the 2020 Summit. Building upon the past success, the 2020 Summit will have a broader focus, encouraging participants to consider how trails, parks, waterways and other assets can bring us all together.
